JESSICA ALEXANDER lived in and worked in the past decade’s most prominent international disasters. She is currently getting her PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on improving aid during humanitarian disasters. She is at work on her memoir, WELCOME BACK TO CIVILIZATION!, about an American girl who grew up in the sheltering cradle of an upper middle class Connecticut town and ended up managing a 24,000-person refugee camp in North Darfur.

JILL ALEXANDER taught high school English and Spanish before becoming a writer full-time. She is the author of THE SWEETHEART OF PROSPER COUNTY, and most recently PARADISE, a YA novel, in which a fifteen-year-old drummer’s world is turned upside down when an accordion-playing bad boy nails the audition to be frontman of her band and challenges all of her beliefs and her boundaries, while she also tries to keep her rockin’ life a secret from her overbearing and disapproving mother.
